What THIRD grade is learning in the library:

• Alphabetizing skills
• Improving computer skills using Chromebooks: i.e. using a touch/click mouse, word processessing, website browsing, and utilizine district approved apps.
• How to use the Alameda Destiny Library Catalog.
• Book location skills using the Dewey Decimal System.
• Introduction to Google Applications: Drive, Classroom, Docs and Slides.
• Introduction to Canvas: A course management system that promotes online learning. 

Using technology as a basis of their library assignments and book locating has been a new experience for our third graders. They are slowly improving on the above skills and will have many more opportunities to have hands on practice in the library.

For purposes of literature promotion, I read high interest books such as fairy tales, equity and inclusion, historical fiction, biographies, holidays and tall tales.
